Earth Hour 2008 ~ A Success in Falmouth?

I asked each of three groups of Falmouth residents whom I guided on tours of Falmouth High School's newly renovated House A if they observed Saturday night's Earth Hour. In each group about a third had. In our home we turned off the main switch so nothing be a few candles were throwing light from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., March 29, 2008. Did you participate?

Here what the Earth Hour web site had to say today:

Earth Hour 2008 was a remarkable global event, and in towns and cities across A… Continue

World Wildlife Fund ~ Climate Change

Climate change is among the most pervasive threats to the Earth today. We have the power to address its root causes and limit its impact on the planet. Without action, climate change will cause the extinction of countless species and destroy some of the world's most precious ecosystems, putting millions of people at risk. July 14 KGCCI: March 4th Meeting

Well, it was good to see those who could show up for our meeting on Tuesday. We talked a little about Web 2.0. As a KGCCI community exercise, please take time to post your thoughts about the meeting topics or any reflections you had afterward.

Just thought I would pass along this article link from today's New York Times:

Thanks for the presentation today at MassCUE. I will be talking to our curriculum director and principal about introducing green technologies into the shops. The students who graduate from the vocational school will be on the front line of using new technologies in automotive, construction, landscaping, etc. Getting them directly involved in the global climate program could put them in a position to valuable employees.
I am teaching an online course about teaching with Web 2.0 and have a ning at http://edtechleaders.ning

Sorry I was out of state on Tuesday. Please let me know when the next call occurs. I was fortunate to see a lava flow on the Big Island.

Very nice! I just returned from a post-EOL launch 4-day weekend in Sedona, AZ. The red rock scenery and relaxing spas were much needed. Enjoy New Orleans!
