About Me:
Linda Amaral-Zettler is an Associate Research Scientist in the Josephine Bay Paul Center for Comparative Molecular Biology and Evolution at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA and has a faculty appointment in the Brown University-MBL Joint Graduate Program. Trained as a Biological Oceanographer in the MIT-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program, she studies molecular evolution, systematics and phylogeny of protists, and microbial diversity and physiological adaptations to life in marine and extreme environments. Beyond her research activities, she also serves as the Secretariat for the Sloan Foundation supported Census of Marine Life project called the International Census of Marine Microbes that aims to facilitate a global census of marine viruses, bacteria, archaea and protists.
